The first in a three-part Trauma Care series, this webinar is designed to provide progressive and critical care nurses with the basics of trauma care and resuscitation in mass casualty situations and disasters. Topics include how to prepare, patient assessment and management, and the personal impact of caring for trauma patients. You can also submit questions for the presenter using a link on this webinar’s webpage.

 The second and third installments of our Trauma Care webinar series will address the care and treatment of trauma patients by body system.

 The webinar is free to view and includes access to the webinar slide presentation and associated tools/resources. This activity offers 1.0 CE hour (60 minutes) with CERP category A at no charge for AACN members (nominal fee for nonmembers).

 About the Presenter

John Gallagher is a professor of acute and tertiary care and director of simulation education at University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) School of Nursing. He is also a clinical nurse specialist in trauma and critical care at Pitt Medical Center. Gallagher’s career encompasses a variety of nursing positions in diverse clinical settings, including trauma resuscitation.
