Additional Information
Welcome everyone!
Dear nurses, the San Fernando Valley AACN chapter has been supporting our community with cutting edge clinical education since 1972. This year is not an exception, and we are excited to host another amazing educational program for you!
Due to the recent fires, complex activities, and turmoil in the society, we have reached out to our AACN President, Jennifer Adamski, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, CCRN, FCCM, and she agreed to be our Key Note speaker this year!
We would like to welcome you on April 9th to enjoy learning from phenomenal speakers, who are pioneers in acute and critical care settings in Southern California, to have opportunities to connect, do some networking, and review new products in clinical arena. In addition, tasty snacks, drinks, water, and fun raffles - all will be available for you.
- The learning area is air-conditioned, please consider layered clothing
- Parking is on-site and free of charge.
- For information or specific dietary requests for lunch ( i.e. vegetarian, kosher, etc) feel free to contact Cindy Kapucija ( Accommodation Chair) via email cmkap@live.com or cell 805-558-2735

SRINIVAS (VAS) J. SARMA, MD MHCM FCCP Department of Cardiovascular Surgery Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center Southern California Permanente Medical Group 1526 N. Edgemont Street ׀ 3 rd Floor ׀ Los Angeles, CA 90027 (626) 487-9640 Srinivas.J.Sarma@kp.org SUMMARY I began my career as a Lung Transplant attending at the University of Southern California and later joined the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG) in 2004 as a Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Specialist. I served as Director for Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care from 2007 to 2019. I continue to serve as an Elected Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the SCPMG Board Patient Access Committee. As the former Director of the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Program at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles from 2007 - 2019, I provided administrative oversight, helped expand the program to the Inland Empire, and continued to manage patients before and after cardiovascular operations. It is still the largest open-heart surgical program in California. It has been recognized as a 3 out of 3 Star Program from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons in all areas of our surgical practice, placing us in the top 5% of programs in the country for patient outcomes. To expand and leverage my executive leadership skills while continuing full-time employment, I completed an executive two-year master’s degree program in Health Care Management at Harvard University on May 26, 2016. Being at the forefront of U.S. healthcare system trends and bridging the gaps between clinicians and administrators were my reasons to pursue this degree. I very much enjoy higher level problem solving in health care and have refocused my career in this direction. EDUCATION Masters in Health Care Management, Harvard University 2016 Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Southern California 2003 Pulmonary Transplantation, University of Southern California 2003 Internal Medicine, University of Southern California 2000 Doctor of Medicine, American University of the Caribbean 1997 Bachelors of Science in Gerontology, University of Southern California 1993
